Fattoria dei Barbi
The "Vigna del Fiore" is an unique vineyard: its 14 acres ( 5.7 hectares) are situated in an area where the vine is cultivated since the XVI century. It is one of the southern vineyard in the whole area of Brunello di Montalcino and one of the oldest. The particular exposition and composition of the soil give to this Brunello special qualities, with a very elegant bouquet and an harmonic and complex taste.
Wine Spectator
Complex aromas of dried fruits, blackberry and mahogany lead to a full-bodied palate, with velvety tannins and a long finish. Polished for the vintage. Best after 2010.

Wine Advocate
The single- vineyard selection, the 2003 Brunello di Montalcino Vigna del Fiore, is made in a more full-bodied style. This brooding, deep Brunello offers plenty of smoke, tar, chocolate, earthiness and toasted oak notes wrapped around a plump core of dark cherries. It reveals outstanding density, with a pretty note of sweetness from the oak that lingers on the finish. Another year or so of bottle age should help smooth the tannins. Anticipated maturity: 2009-2018.

Sustainable practices incorporate organic standards and may exceed them and include ecologically and socially sound business practices such as fair pay for farm workers and energy conservation.
Screw Cap
Wines sealed with a screw cap as opposed to a cork, which experts report protects and preserves wine more effectively than does a cork, while also eliminating the possibility of cork taint.
No Sulfites
All wines naturally contain some sulfites, however wines that contain less than 10 parts per million sulfites are not required to include "Contains Sulfites" on their labels.

I still believe it is the simplest way to rate a wine, with its origins from grade school in the United States. A wine that I rate 90 points or more is outstanding (A), and worth buying. If I rate a wine 95 points or more (A+), it is a must buy.
